Making Life Easier

To make a long URL short

Have you ever tried to send a web site address (URL) to a friend? Have you noticed that those addresses are getting longer? It’s come to a point where I’ve gone back to sending the homepage address and saying “click on the red button, then choose number 5, click on the yellow button on the bottom left, and that should work.”

Now there are tools that can help you shorten those long addresses to a more manageable length and avoid giving scavenger hunt-type instructions for citations. Below are a few such tools:

Shorl.com
Lets you shorten long URLs and track traffic to the shortened address.

TinyURL.com
Lets you shorten long URLs; can be added to your browser toolbar.

Make a Shorter Link
The name says it all.
